Insulation in Ripponlea

Ceilings in Melbourne typically use R4.0 to R6.0 batts. Higher R-values provide better thermal resistance, which is useful for Ripponlea’s older homes with poor existing insulation. We’ll recommend the best option based on your roof space and budget.

Yes. We inspect the current batts for compression, gaps or moisture damage. If they’re inadequate, we can top up with additional layers or remove and replace them entirely. If old insulation may contain asbestos, work stops until a qualified assessor inspects it.

A standard ceiling insulation job in an average-sized home takes 3 to 5 hours. Underfloor insulation may take a full day, depending on access and the subfloor area. We’ll provide a time estimate after assessing your property.

Absolutely. Many Ripponlea homes are on stumps with exposed subfloors, which let cold air rise into living spaces. Underfloor batts create a thermal barrier, reducing floor chill and cutting heating costs in winter.

Yes, we remove old, damaged or ineffective insulation, including ceiling dust and debris. This ensures the new material performs at its rated R-value. If asbestos is suspected, we pause work until a professional assessment is completed.

Cost depends on the roof pitch, access difficulty, floor area, existing insulation condition, whether removal is needed and the R-value of the chosen material. We provide a detailed quote after inspecting your home.
